Washington, D.C., formally the District of Columbia and commonly referred to as Washington, or D.C., is the capital of the United States. The Residence Act approved the creation of a capital district located along the Potomac River on the country's East Coast on July 20, 1790. The District is under the exclusive jurisdiction of the United States Congress and is therefore not part of any U.S. state.

History[]

19th Century[]

During the War of 1812, British forces invaded Washington, D.C. and burned the White House. The event marked the only time the White House was taken and America was invaded by a foreign power until it was succeeded by the White House Siege 201 years later in 2013.

21st Century[]

In 2013, a crisis occurred when an aerial assault by a North Korean terrorist group called the Koreans for United Freedom resulted in the deaths of many civilians and Secret Service agents. The Washington Monument was also damaged and the White House was taken over by the K.U.F. moments later, resulting in the capture of President Benjamin Asher and several high-ranking U.S officials.

However, with aid from the Pentagon, Secret Service agent Mike Banning was able to save President Asher along with First Son Connor Asher and Secretary of Defense Ruth McMillan. After the White House Siege, Washington recovered and the White House and Washington Monument were rebuilt before 2016.
